Fee-Free Crowdfunding: Too Good to Be True?
Traditionally, Do It Yourself (DIY) Crowdfunding
has been the way projects escape portal fees – but even this approach
comes with risk. Many believe that the DIY model yields less funds and
requires more effort. Certainly, a recognizable portal boosts a
project’s market presence, but arguing DIY inferior ignores the fact
many self-hosted projects need independence to flourish. At any rate,
for projects uninterested DIY crowdfunding, there are alternatives.
